We are currently seeking experienced candidates for the position of Resource Sharing Manager. The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education. The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a Resource Sharing Manager to provide overall management of strategic, systemwide resource sharing initiatives within the Unified Library Management System (ULMS). The ULMS supports returnable resource sharing for over 500,000 students, faculty, and staff, and holds about 23 million titles. This position develops strategies and direction for service delivery/integration, communications, support, and promotion of resource sharing services and planning in direct consultation with the CSU libraries and Chancellor's Office Academic Technology leadership.
Systemwide Digital Library Services (SDLS) develops and manages a wide variety of information systems aimed at providing greater access to the collections and services of the California State University (CSU) Libraries.
THIS IS A LONG -TERM TEMPORARY POSITION WITH BENEFITS.
Under the general direction of the Director, Systemwide Digital Library Services, the Resource Sharing Manager will:
-Provide high-level oversight and management of resource sharing operations within the CSU.
-Explore innovative ways to continue serving CSU faculty, staff, and students needs through statewide and regional resource sharing projects.
-Maintain and further develop the rota and campus configurations within the Unified Library Management System to support efficient systemwide resource sharing.
-Manage and deliver resource sharing related professional development opportunities, training and advisory services to CSU library staff and faculty.
-Ensure high-quality mediated interlibrary loan and other document delivery services across the CSU.
-Lead and/or coordinate training on new features, functionality, and tools for resource sharing for the CSU resource sharing community.
-Provide regular status updates and manage communications for stakeholders throughout the CSU system on resource sharing activities.
-Develop, maintain and report analytics on interlibrary loan services, circulation information, and other data sources.
-Assist CSU collection development, access services, and other library groups in integrating evidence-based resource sharing data analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and other data intelligence into cooperative collection development and management activities.
-Other duties as assigned.
This position requires:
-A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Preference will be given to candidates with a Master of Library and Information Science.
-The position also requires two or more years' experience working in resource sharing, fulfillment, or related areas in a library. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience managing resource sharing operations in an academic library, consortium, vendor, or equivalent setting.
The Resource Sharing Manager works closely with librarians, administrators, and staff across the CSU to assess current resource sharing and interlibrary loan processes, develop policies regarding borrowing and lending of library materials, as well as advising use of other interlibrary loan software to supplement resource sharing, and thus requires:
-An acumen for leadership.
-Strong creative, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
-Strong oral and written communication skills.
-Strong customer service orientation.
-Data analysis skills, including the ability to organize, present, and analyze raw financial and usage data to formulate conclusions and write analytical reports.
This position will have broad responsibilities for maintaining resource sharing functionality within a consortium Alma implementation, as well as new and emerging interlibrary loan tools and services, and thus requires:
-Broad knowledge of library services, emerging tools, and technologies.
-Demonstrable experience working with fulfillment, resource sharing or interlibrary loan systems. Preference given to experience working with Alma, ILLiad, and RapidILL.
-Demonstrable experience working with vendors on issue resolution and needs analysis.

Conflict of Interest
The duties of this position will include participation in decisions that may have a material financial benefit to the incumbent. Therefore, the selected candidate will be required to file Conflict of Interest Form 700: Statement of Economic Interest when they first occupy the position, and on an annual basis, complete ethics training within 6 months of appointment, and attend this training every other year thereafter.
The Chancellor's Office policy requires that the selected candidate successfully complete a full background check (including a criminal records check) prior to assuming this position.
